Internship Opportunities

Overview

STG is a full service political and public affairs consulting firm located near Farragut Square. Our team of experienced professionals has waged and won dozens of high-profile, high stakes campaigns for candidates, coalitions and causes – and we do the same thing for our clients.

What Makes You a Good Fit

  • Want a fast-paced internship where you’ll continually be challenged and grow your skill sets;

  • Are passionate about progressive causes including (but not limited to) energy and the environment, public lands, and health care;

  • Want to change the world and think communications plays a role in that ambition;

  • Are kind, friendly, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

Applicants should be able to commit at least three months to the internship program and be available between 15 and 30 hours per week. Interns will receive $13.50/hour with $50/month for travel expenses. We will be flexible for students to accommodate class schedules.

Communications Internship

Interns will work under the principals of our communications division. Candidates should have strong writing, editing, and communication skills, and be interested in advocacy campaigns relating to public lands and natural resource conservation, health care reform, grassroots organizing, and social justice.

Social and Digital Media Internship

Interns will work with the digital communications manager and assistants. Candidates should be strong writers who feel comfortable drafting tweets and action alerts, have a knack for creating social media content that pops, and thrive in a deadline-driven environment and work well on a team.

Fellowship Opportunities

Overview

We are good people doing good things and we are looking for a stellar individual to join our team.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You are a recent college graduate, current graduate student, or somebody looking to get hands-on experience in the exciting world of public affairs and political communication;

  • You want a fast-paced fellowship where you’ll continually be challenged and grow your skill sets;

  • You have exceptional written and oral communications skills;

  • You’re passionate about progressive causes including (but not limited to) energy and the environment, public lands, social justice, and health care;

  • You have a good sense of humor;

  • You are kind, friendly, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

Applicants should be able to commit at least four months to the fellowship program and be available between 35 and 40 hours per week. Fellows will receive $18/hour with $50/month for travel expenses. We will be flexible with specific dates for graduate students to accommodate class schedules.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Interviews will be conducted as soon as possible afterwards.



Communications Fellowship

Fellows will be considered full-time staffers, working directly with communications and digital principals. Candidates should have strong writing, editing, and communication skills, and a prior demonstration of leadership capabilities, an expressed interest in advocacy campaigns relating to public lands and natural resource conservation, health care reform, grassroots organizing, and social justice.
